Almost Ready

ALMOST READY

We are almost there...almost ready.    We have separate checklists that only overlap occasionally.  George always wants to save money so he wants to cancel everything—Netflix, phones, tennis club membership, newspapers, subscriptions, Amazon Prime, water, electricity, my car.  You name it and George wants to cancel it.  The words “confirm” “determine” “secure” and “review” appear frequently on his 6 page list.  My list, which is scattered throughout the pages of my little spiral notebook, is more about making arrangements with my cleaning lady, finding a replacement volunteer for my library lady (I deliver library books to the home bound), and stockpiling Rx’s.

We have decided on a house sitter and sent out rejection letters to the less qualified.  “Thank you for your interest, but we have chosen someone who has experience living in the house.” I still have to write up a house user manual.  Some things just need to be said—No red wine on the white sofas!

Our house bills are in order. We are immunized.   We have one-way airline tickets and a hotel reservation.  George has contacted a few Thai real estate agents and they have responded.  The apartment prospects look promising.  We just need our visas which we plan to get in early August at the Thai Consulate in LA.

Meanwhile, I am in the mountains where I go every summer with the intention of improving my  golf game. And I am taking an on-line course on I-Phone photography.
